The network requirement and optimal performance requirements for every application or traffic type vary dramatically. Some require speed and lower latency, while others require more throughput and capacity. Controlling traffic uniquely by user just isn’t enough. To effectively optimize and performance, Kryptofab focuses on optimization at the application layer. Kryptofab values each users privacy and security. As such, Kryptofab never looks at the content or payload of any customer traffic. Instead, we are able to identify types of traffic through their unique application signature.
Kryptofab’s Application Control performs deep packet (DPI) and deep flow (DFI) inspection of network traffic, enabling it to accurately identify thousands of common applications such as social networking, P2P, instant messaging, video streaming, file sharing, enterprise applications and much more. Deep packet inspection (DPI) is an advanced method of examining and managing network traffic. It is a form of packet filtering that locates, identifies, classifies, and optimizes packets with specific data or code payloads far more effectively than conventional packet filtering. Deep flow inspection (DFI) is a packet filtering technique that analyzes statistical characteristics like packet lengths, ratio of large packets and small payload standard deviation, and connection behavior of flows, to determine the actions to be applied to application flow or session packets.
